During my most recent photo tour to Panama I had the chance to photograph many wonderful species, but
besides the harpy eagle, this rufous-crested coquette was able to make my heart beat a lot faster as this was a species I really wanted to see and photograph!
Thanks for looking! Expect more from me in the following days
Gorgeous bird and a fabulous shot...of course you did manage to make a not so veiled reference to seeing a harpy eagle....I do not think one in the wild has graced this forum so am hoping you will post your encounter very soon.

Your excitement and consequent heavy heart beat could have resulted in some hand tremor and camera shake, Juan, as the image is not as critically or razor sharp as most of your other images. But it's still a beautiful shot of an exotic and rarely seen species.

very likely so Bobby!!! this hummer is super active and was moving so much still while perching as he had to keep an eye out for the rufous-tailed hummer that was bullying him!!! not easy to come out with a tack sharp shot even at 1/640 sec. when your subject moves so much!!!

The shots I got are nothing out of this world as this is not an easy to shoot species especially when they are in the high trees they live but I will surely post some shots soon!
