Crazy Aurora last night. I decided on the off chance to hit up a location I'd not scoped out before, but of a lottery but with some ingenuity it worked out well.
hi rob - while the 2nd shot is quite impressive in itself, i still like #1. it's the 4 light rays from the lighthouse that knocked the image over the top.
i looked at the image as a contrast between artificial and galactic lights ;-)
not to hijack the thread, but has anyone ever shot the full milkyway arch using a fisheye lens?

Thanks, yeah I prefer the single frame with the light rays too, has more impact and was fun from a technical pov to shoot.
I've only rarely shot a fisheye and generally not a fan but it works for some
