Wow, what amazing shots! You must have a very close vantage point coupled with your skill in capturing excellent images. I am curious to know how you get so close and up at eye level. I hope you are able to return often and post more images as the chicks grow.
The only bald eagle nest I know in this area is ~600m from the nearest permitted observation point. I am able to get about 10 pixels on an eagle. I am going to Haines in Nov. If I get one image as good as any of these it will be worth the trip.
Thanks Dave. The nest is halfway down an embankment leading down to the yukon river. On the top of the embankment is a hiking trail. So you get a downwards view into the nest and can walk down the hill a little to get even more straight on. You will get many excellent images in Haines....great eagle opportunities there.

Outstanding seems a bit simple for such a superb series Geoff, really some of the best I've seen of nesting eagles with chicks. #9 should be on the cover of something.

Greetings, arbitrage ...
John J. Audubon must be rolling in his grave with envy that someone with a camera can so eloquently upstage his timeless bird studies with a paintbrush!
Your series above with eagle feeding chicks is about the most spectacular & precious photo illustration of bird life I've seen in my 85 yrs. on the planet.
Thanks BIG for sharing your stunning camera work on this forum!!

You are too kind Don. I'm lucky to live so close to these easily accessible nests that provide a top down shooting location. The rest is just pushing the shutter at the right time

No reply necessary.
Hopefully next year the nest in town will be operational again so you won't have to hike as far to this one. Do you still have the coordinates in your GPS? I am moving to V. Island this summer so this will be my last time with these nests unless I come back to visit
