I hope they're finding their way up here to me! Nice captures Birdie!

I hope they come to you as well. Very strange this year with the butterflies, Hummers and bees . Don’t know where the are.

classic Roberta shots here. I would have said that even I I did not see who posted them. Lovely series.

Thanks so much KD.

These are superb Roberta. Possibly they have left the country before ICE catches up with them.

. Thanks Morris. Maybe they are staying north or south of the borders .

I think I read, maybe on the Cornell site, that the rubies are now wintering farther north, eg your area, rather than all moving to Central America in winter. So if this is true they might be headed north for summer grounds already. We just planted our hummer flowers last weekend - the earliest we can plant safely up here at 52 north - so hope we will see them in a few weeks too.

Interesting info. This past winter I did not see any rubies here. I do however get a few Rufous that migrate here for the winter.

Beautiful interplay of flora and fauna! Usually when you try to do this, the flower and bird would be competing with each other (and that’s not good) but this doesn’t seem to be the case here. The bird and the flower actually compliment each other and the compositions, exposure and color tones are simply gorgeous and beautifully illustrates your great eye and artistic sensibility.

Bobby, you say the nicest things. Thanks for your very generous words.

Roberta,

The first image is the winner for me! just love the colour, composition and of course this little bird that I have seen only twice in CR.
My only suggestion would be to boost the exposure a tad as it is a bit underexposed.

Best,

Juan Carlos

Appreciate Juan. I will see if I can raise the exposure.

Always enjoy the flowers with your hummers....strange that East still only has Rubies. In the West many different Hummers are expanding their territory, in our area, Black chinned and Annas are becoming much more common. Annas are surviving at 0 degree F.

These are simply pure eye candy Birdie! I love your processing style and fits the subject so well.

Our Ruby's disappeared on us as well for several weeks, but they are now back and then some.
My wife and I almost got beaned in the head several times last evening setting on our front porch.
It's amazing to see their high speed aerial maneuvers when they are chasing each other.

Your images are sweetly exquisite, Biredie! I really love the placement and rendition of the flowers in those images. They are not overpowering yet there quite prominently. Well captured and presented!
