Thanks George... His/Her parents were flying around on the other side of the river. I was fortunate that it chose a nice clean branch in which to eat and perch.
migrating Monarch, at Maine Audubon's Gilsland Farm's wildflower garden.
Until I fully recover, this is a close-by, easy outing for me. I visited this wildflower garden frequently this summer and have not seen a single Monarch here.
Yesterday, there were 8 to 10 Monarchs here.

Glad to see you are out and about Robert!
Lovely color palette in this pick.
It's cooling down in MN and the Jewel Weed (touch-me-not) are experiencing their final blooms.
This last gasp coincides with the migration of juvenile and female ruby-throat hummingbirds. These might the last of the hummers in my north central state until mid to late June...

Great images George. I really like that second hummer against the colored background. Nice work!
Here's a few photos I captured while out on walks where I probably wouldn't have had a long lens if not for the 500mm PF. All shot handheld and several miles from the car where I generally wouldn't have a bigger heavier lens.
Thank you! I love your RRBB especially the others are really good as well. You’re right the lens is so awesome because it can be hand held so easily which is a huge help at times!
