Regardless being small, they do get new products quicker than some other places.
I'm not saying they will have it for sure, but it's worth to try it.
BTW, don't go by their website, it's a small place, and it's not up to date all the time, just call them in.
Just sent them an email. Also sent emails around to some other stores. I need to limit myself to stores in ON and AB that don't have BC locations so I don't have to pay our 7% PST on the high priced lens. BJPhoto should work for that caveat.

Sorry all. Yes, I have had to keep a secret. I have had the 500 f5.6 PF for almost 2 weeks but had to keep it quiet as I wasn't supposed to have it yet. The lens was delivered to my store who then rang me to say it had come in and I could pick it up, which I duly did. I then went off to the zoo for some testing and no sooner had I got there than I was rung by my store to say that the lens was delivered to them by mistake and Nikon asked me to keep is quiet until now. As you can imagine, I was eager to tell everyone how good this lens is and now I can with the embargo lifted!
I was going to post simultaneously here and at DPR but I ran out of time and could only get to it now as I know how many of you were eager to see some samples. Sorry for any delay.
It is a stunning lens considering the size and weight. It's quite amazing. Sharp from wide open, there is no need to stop down other than for DOF purposes. AF speed is fast, not 400 f2.8E FL VR fast, but I managed to track Peregrine Falcons with it and get some great shots. If the 400 f2.8 is a 9/10 for AF speed, then the 500 PF is a good 7.5/10, the 200-500 is a 5/10.
I think Nikon will sell these lenses by the bucket load.
Sample gallery. Look at them at "original" size which is shown under the image. There are options for size: "Small", ",Medium", "Large" and "Original". Choose original as this is the largest size.
All EXIF intact and there is a drop down box under the image on my site which displays the EXIF as well.
Some samples all on the D850. Some cropped some original and uncropped. Some from the zoo, some are wild animals. The Peregrine Falcons are wild, as is the Wombat, Satin Bowerbird, Ibis and Seagull.
Nothing exotic and not on Lance's level but my first shot with the 500PF. I didn't even play with the plaine lens first-went straight for the 1.4TCiii and of course no MFA with the lens out of the box 10 min's before this shot.
Excuse the ISO, I live in a temperate rain forest on the best of days and today the added bonus of Hurricane Flo's remnants/non stop rain.
Remember, don't judge the lens/camera/TC by me. I'm just an old amateur having fun.
Forgot to mention, denoised the background via NIK.
Nikon D500
500.0 mm f/5.6
ƒ/8.0 700.0 mm 1/640 2200
WEbmstrk9 I didn't try without TC so no reference.
And it is crap crap crap light outside.
Yes Dennis a crop, 30 percent at most. Really just eliminated the perch, it was cluttered.
I will say I'm envious of those who'd not put a TC on a slow lens like this, or wouldn't shoot below
ISO 1000 with a cropper. If I lived those limitations here in cloudland I might as well stay on the couch
Some more news.
the Kirk Replacement Lens Foot for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR works a charm on the 500mm PF. Same mechanism as the replacement foot I put on the FE100-400GM-
The Canadian supply news continues to get worse and worse...multiple stores have now confirmed to me today that they got next to no lenses in....Nikon seriously screwed up demand forecasts according to all the stores I talked with. I'm working with some of my long-term stores to try and secure a lens sooner than later but I'm not optimistic.....hopefully Nikon will shift some supply into Canada to meet demand in the next batch (whenever that is...no one knew)....
Keep posting nice photos.....eerrrrr....wait....uhhh....maybe not...just tell me the lens sucks....

Mine hasn’t arrived either in India, my dealer has earlier expected to hand it over last Friday. He will let me know later today after hearing back from Nikon India. Let’s see.

I hear there is a tiny store in Nova Scotia that may have one stashed in a back room if you want to take a short trip to The Far East.

Grab whatever you can. Look like it will be in short supply for a long long time.
Initially I was told that they are expecting Nikon Thailand to get 10 units in
but I just heard that only 3 were allocated to Thailand, 1 NPS and 1 each for 2 stores.
Luckily my local store told me that they fought very hard to make sure that they got one
in for me although they had a few orders already.
