Returning to Sony and this is the first lens I bought. I have an A7R3 and the 100-400 GM on the way. Pretty excited. Just need to offload the rest of the GFX lenses to grab some other GM/CV lenses.

I know Tony @Imagemaster@@ with the post right above yours had the A6500 before the A9...maybe he will chime in. I would look at an A6400 for the new AF although you will lose IBIS.
However, the A9 is by far the better camera. The features that its special sensor allow are not matched by anything else out there. The only reason I would go with A6500/6400 over an A9 is if you are "reach" starved and need the pixel density OR for serious cost savings. The A9 also does remarkably well with the 100-400/2xTC but you need to be in good light for f/11...focus and IQ are still very good though. The A6400 can also focus the f/11 combo but I have no idea how well....Show more →
Thanks. I'll get the a9. No need to fool around with a6xxxs if the a9 is that much better. I think I'll get the 1.4x for sure. I never had any experience with WL/BIF, but it's clear with 400mm, you want more reach.
