Anyone has pictures with the GM using a6400? I'm using a7rii and trying to decide if I should get an a9 or a6400 for not-so-hardcore birding. a9 is like 3x the cost of a6400.

I just got the 1.4 TC. At the extreme end 560mm, I'm getting soft pictures with a7rii regardless of what I do. I was hand holding. Is it a problem with the rii? Without the TC, the pictures are tack sharp at 400mm.

Hi, Is it possible the A7R2 cannot use PDAF at F/8?
I know the A7R3 can use PDAF AF up to F/8 and the A7R4 will be able to use PDAF AF up to F/11, but I forget what the PDAF limit is for the A7R2.

Put the camera on tripod to test it out. Looks like it's plenty sharp with the 1.4xTC. I guess with the higher ISO and longer reach, getting sharp pictures really gets exponentially harder. In other words, I suck. Need to practice more.
For now, pictures of vase in my kitchen is as wild as it gets.

Looks a lot sharper than the outdoor hand held shots. I don't or haven't hand held my lens, but I would think that you should use the lens stabilizer for hand holding the lens. The A7rII has a 42 MP sensor.
