Adorama just delivered. Upgraded to next day air. Woot! Now I have to run off to work and wait some more to play with it. Being an adult is the pits sometimes.
Edit: I decided as an adult I could take 15 mins to mount and take a few quick snaps in the backyard.

Might explain the back order status email this morning. Probably some freight issue. Adorama warehouse is in New Jersey. BH has warehouse at Brooklyn Navy Yards and also in Jersey.
Now stores are let’s say 40 blocks of each other. I’m always in NY at same hotel. It’s a nice walk to BH for me but Adorama is more a taxi cab ride. I’m lazy
Just chatted with B&H on live chat and they also told me they did not receive their shipment. I told them to be prepared for a lot of pissed off customers.
Well sorry to hear about everyone waiting on their orders. I walked right into a local large photo retailer here in Toronto ( Vistek ) and purchased it on the spot with no pre-order, I think they had two in stock.
Not sure what I can add that hasn't been said before. Actually using the lens, it handles better than I expected it too. The balance on the camera is quite nice. AF and tracking are on another level. The MFD is a really fun aspect of this lens that I think I will enjoy and use frequently. Resolution is on another level...I feel like I can see more detail at 2:1 in Lightroom than I can at 1:1...clearly the 24mp of the a7III is no challenge at all. Amazing piece of kit.
This one is part of a series. Every shot was in focus...granted he wasn't moving all that fast in rain boots.
