OK, just had some quick back-garden snapshots, but this is the real deal. Blistering sharp, very nice rendering so far. Love the close focus ability already. One image were I can almost feel the steel, wood and robe fibers shot wide open. Very impressive.

Now when is the next GM going to be out? This GM 135 is old news already! I thought they promised 12 more lenses this year. This is the first so far.
A 200 f2 would just tickle my fancy. That’s my hope. 24,50,85,135,200. All that’s left for me is a nice solid 200. And I can’t see myself grabbing the 70-200 now that I have an 85 and 135. I can’t get myself to get rid of the 1.8 though for the 1.4GM. It looks so dainty. Haha

Mine just showed up now.
They must have been shipping them in patches to Fedex. Those that ordered earlier got out on Tuesday and received it today. Those that ordered later, like me, got slipped to Wednesday since they weren't ready in time to make Fedex's Tuesday deliveries I think. Well will have it tomorrow and you guys are driving be crazy with the quality of images this lens produces.

Man it is gorgeous see if can one of the grandkids
I knew you would love this lens just because you are a fan of the 50/1.4 ZA. Aside from the 135 GM's faster and more accurate AF, they are similar in look imo.
Ordered mine today at Adorama. Steve Chill said it would ship out today or tomorrow. Tried B&H and they were out of stock till May 17th. TBH, I already have the Canon 135/2L which I love. But the images and feedback on this lens....
Updated a few hours later - just confirmed it's shipped and with me in 7 days - not exactly Amazon prime

I paid 40 dollars for overnight when ordering. Guess I got hosed
So did I from B&H, but it came this afternoon. 82mm MRC filter put on immediately, found an appropriately-sized neoprene soft pouch, and it's in the bag as I type this. Need to get it in action tonight.

I've always used a fast 135 essentially as a prime shooter's 70-200 replacement, my previous experience being with the 135L.
This is interesting to me. My 135 GM is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I shoot mostly wildlife and have been gradually replacing my zooms with primes. I’ve done it at the long end with the 400 f2.8 and no more 100-400, 24 and 85 (and also Loxia 21) at the shorter end (no more 16-35 and no more 24-105) and the only thing I have left is the 70-200. It will be a big move if I’m going to drop that one but if the 135 is as good as it appears to be then I’m probably going that way. The only thing that scares me is losing redundancy. I always had this idea that if my longer lens ever failed in a remote place that I could at least put the 2x TC on the 70-200 and I’d still have some longer reach.
Sony is full of doo doo. We’ll be lucky to get one or two more.
A 40 1.4GM would be the ideal next GM.
But I expect we’ll get an announced 500 and 600 before the year is out.

I sure hope other than longer tele lenses, they decide to bring out an ultra-wide GM. 24 is great and all, but I could really use something in the 10-18mm range. If they bring a superfast lens that wide, I'll reload the slush fund for another day lol
