I pass the credit on to Carlito, who is not only a beautiful, photogenic tomcat in his prime, but also acts almost like a cat model.
Despite the hefty appearance of a combination like the Z8 & Plena, he doesn't let it disturb him on his hunts, ignores me and the camera, pursues his prey, and thus helps to document a natural immersion of his hunting behavior.
I did a small burst series of him, and in the end, you could have used any of the pictures, Carlos makes you look good, as only a good model can.
I took a trip over to eastern Washington recently for some drone images. However, I also took my infrared converted Nikon Z7 camera (converted to 590nm) and my Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens (great for infrared images). In several places that I had already taken images traditionally, I used this infrared equipment for a different view of things. The first two images are from the Steamboat Rock state park area of the Grand Coulee, while the third and fourth images are from the North Cascades mountains. These images are false color infrared, where the infrared spectrum is depicted in orange tones. Converting an older camera body to be able to take infrared images is an option for seeing things differently.
I got out to shoot the fall landscapes, this time in western Pennsylvania, over the last two days. I haven't processed all the images, but here's the first batch.
These are all Z6 III with Tamron 16-30mm f/2.8 and Nikon Z 24-120mm f/4S:

This is the end of seeing Comet 2025 A6 lemmon in the predawn for me. It is too bright in the breaking dawn before it clears the adjacent mountain with the comet rising near the peak. It was great to watch it rise above the landscape but it is too late for a dark sky. Captured with a Nikon Z7II and Nikon 105mm F1.4 lens. The 105mm adapted remains my go to Nikon lens for this type of imagery.
And the rest of my images from my little western PA swing. Z6 III with Tamron 16-30mm f/2.8, Nikon Z 24-120mm f/4S, Nikon 70-180mm f/2.8, and Z50 II with DX 18-140mm and Viltrox 9mm f/2.8:

Senior session tonight. went to use my Batis 85, and all of a sudden, no aperture value with the Viltrox adapter, despite it working fine previously. So, 70-200 to the rescue, and it never disappoints. I wonder if I should buy another adapter, or pick up another 85F1.8S, or maybe the new Viltrox 85F2.
Is that Falling Water hiding in there? Looks like a good trip.
