Damn you. I am sorely tempted. Going to watch the Laker game and try to forget you mentioned it. I’m thinking about swapping my 40 1.2 for this 21. Sacrilege I know, but I am just shooting the Sigma 50 1.4 and Samyang 35 1.4 for portraits lately and have nothing in between 15mm (CV 4.5) and 28mm, but I still haven’t sold the 40mm. My wife is totally cool with MF on her a6400 and loves Voigtlander lenses so I don’t even have that as an excuse. I bet it would make a pretty sweet 32mm on APS-C. Hmm.

Shameless plug, I have one for sale on the B&S board.
Ah such beautiful images. Inspires me to take out this beautiful lens and bring back my love for primes. Always been a prime lover. I think my next lens will probably be a prime, maybe a voigtlander

Sunrise from this morning. I also took a similar with the Sigma 14-24 before the sun was visible. I changed it to the CV 21 just for the sunstar.
Can you briefly tell us something about how you would rate the two lenses in comparison?
Thank you! Sorry I didn't do a direct comparison between the CV 21 and the Sigma 14-24, I am not a good lens tester like some here. I believe Fred compared the Sigma to the CV 21 in his long Sigma 14-24 thread. I traded the a good copy of the CV 15 and 21 for the Sigma, but I missed the weight and sunstar of the CV so i bought a CV 21 back. Personally these lenses are so good in terms of rendering and sharpness, with the CV you get the beautiful sunstar, light weight, f1.4, easy use of filter and perhaps better flair resistance, look at the picture I posted, no flair at all, but youonly get 21mm. With the Sigma, you get the FL versatility from 14-24 with first class sharpness. I bought the Nisi CPl filter kit for the Sigma but have not even opened the box since I bought it 2 months ago. The size of the filter cap already scares me, .
Anyway, here is a shot with the Sigma 14-24 yesterday at the same location, just minutes before the sun was visible from the horizon. As soon as the sun rose above the horizon, I knew I would want to use the CV for the sunstar. The location is just a 5-minute walk from my car so I didn't mind bringing a few more lenses with me.
