This is a lens that struggles to produce a less than excellent image. I'd love this design at 28/1.4, they could sell quite a lot of that hypothetical one. The 21/1.4 is their 2nd most complex lens, at 13/11. The 110/2.5 is 14/12 (no asph elements).
OK: this or Sony 20 1.8 thinking about astro and landscape? I think the 20 sony makes more sense if you combine with the GM 24 1.4 and Sigma 14 1.8. The 20 seems to have better coma control at 1.8 whereas the CV needs probably 2.2 so the speed advantage goes away. Plus the Sony is closer to 19 which is a nicer gap.

But of course, open to thoughts
I have not shot the Sony 20 f.18, nor have I used the CV 21 for astro. I recall seeing comments on the CV for astro either in this long thread or Philip Reeve's site. I traded my CV 21 for the Sigma 14-24 but missed the sunstar from the CV so I bought one back.
I recently spent sunset at Deception Pass, WA and thought I would share some images I took using the 21/1.4 Voigtlander. I have only had the lens for a little while but far I am really enjoying it.
This lens is simply a joy to use. I still use it even after i got the sony 12-24 gm. Nothing like that beautiful sunstar and rendering. If i want to travel light i just take the 21 1.4 and 50 f2 apo. They both are so lovely together.

Took this shot week before last when in was at the Bruce Peninsula National Park in Ontario. For those who know the are this is at sunrise near the Singing Sands beach.
I feel like I should be buying this even though I have it and the Loxia 21. I have bought both the Voigtlander 65 f/2 and the 7 Artisans 28 f/1.4 from Guy and this would complete a really nice 3 lens Guy cast off set Seriouly, Guy is great to buy from so somebody ought to take this superb lens off his hands.

Stunning image! It really looks like it could be a painting. My one thought here though is that I don't like the sunburst coming out of the cabin light. For me, it somewhat contrasts against the quiet mood of the warm cabin in the wilderness. Lovely scene though.
