Fred, this was back in 2019, whats is todays present lineup looking like using MF lenses
Strictly MF lenses, I'd think that the Voigtlander 35/2 APO + 50/2 or 65/2 APO should be top considerations. For the wide range we have Voigtlander 21/1.4, Loxia 21/2.8, Loxia 25/2.4 and for the ultra wide, the CV 15/4.5 III.
However, I would be tempted to combine AF and MF lenses (zooms and primes):
Sigma 14-24/2.8 DG DN or Sony 12-24/2.8 GM (Both stronger performers than CV 15 and similar to the Loxias)
Voigtlander 35/2 APO or Sigma 35/2 DG DN
Voigtlander 65/2 APO or Sigma 65/2 DG DN
Perhaps one telephoto prime like the Batis 135/2.8
That's kind of the route I'm going (although I'm keeping my Loxia 21.) I run the Sigma 14-24 in both my AF and MF kits. And I'm sort of going the dual 35/65 CV and Sigma route. CV 50/2 and Sigma 45. Then I have the 110 CV/Sigma 105 2.8 macro.
I'd love to have the Batis 135.

So many options now.
Thanks Fred.
I am using the CV15 & Loxia 21. If I wanted a zoom I would definitely consider the Sigma 14-24
In the alt forum there is a thread asking what's your favorite CV lenses, I replied I only have the 15, but would like the 21 1.4, 35 & 50 APO 2
My question though strictly for landscape at f8 is, how well will the CV 35 & 50 1.2 SE perform

Looks like great minds are starting to converge: Lloyd C. wrote this on his blog today:
'The 35/2 APO looks like the best 35mm lens ever on any 35mm-format platform.... I might have to try 2 or 3 samples to get a really good one because together with the Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM and the Voigtlander FE 35/2 APO and Voigtlander FE 50/2 APO (and Voigtlander FE 65/2 APO), there never before has been so compact and so outrageously good 'kit' from 12mm to 65mm. This is the golden age of photography.'
Thanks to everyone in this thread for their samples.
Wow, what a little chonk this thing is on the M10-R. Only had time to take a few snapshots around the house, but so far, I'm impressed with the sharpness at MFD, and the corners at infinity look good at f/5.6. Infinity focus on the M rangefinder patch is spot-on at hard lock. The CV 21 3.5 Color-Skopar I tried focused past infinity, which is a no-go for me on the M.

Wide open at MFD on the M10-R.
I've tried CV 21/1.4 M-mount version before and it's just as good as the E-mount. It's sharp at MFD since SA is not under-corrected for this Nokton.
At least you don't have to worry about the lens' length blocking the frame lines. :=)

Yeah, I'm still looking for those frame lines. I'll get back to you when I find them
I’m finding this thread really useful. I have been tempted by the Voigtländer 21/1.4 for quite some time. More recently, I was fortunate to pick up an excellent, barely used second-hand copy of the Sony 12-24/2.8 GM, which I could not be more pleased with. But I find myself still wondering about the 21/1.4, for low light landscapes.
So, I would be very interested to hear thoughts on how the 12-24/2.8 and 21/1.4 compare, particularly with respect to contrast, colour rendering and sharpness. Whether I can justify the 21/1.4 to myself perhaps depends on whether its performance between f/2.8 and wide open is comparable to or, ideally, better than what can be achieved using the 12-24 at f/2.8.

On the M10M @ f/5.6, no color filter
I've been enjoying your CV 21/1.4 Nokton images! There is a lot of pop, especially when the subject is a mid-distance.
I had the E-mount for many years years and just ordered the M version.
I am curious how it compares to the Leica 21/3.4 at ~ f/5.6.
