A fairly rare bird for my area, this American Bittern was seen chowing down on the invasive Bullfrogs, so I guess that's a good thing.

First and last for me Colin. They usually don't come out in the open and when they do stick to the edge of the reeds so you are quite lucky to get such nice backgrounds

First is quite the shot unless your name is 'froggy'

#2 is no easy one to pull off, throat shot with both eyes in focus, kudos

The one for me that tells the story is the last one, Bittern peaking between natures blinds, very cool Colin

Thanks. Yes, it was amazing to see the numbers that it would pull out of the water when there was no sign of any to the human eye.

Fantastic images, especially the first two, Colin! I have a hard time finding these guys/gals, and when I do, I have a hard time getting a decent image of them. Great work on these.
