p.1 #1 · -30c - A beautiful day at Mt Chephron - Banff National Park
My beloved told me I could go out today (Valentines Day) if I drove her to Banff tomorrow for dinner. So I arranged with another adventurist soul (who also apparently had a girlfriend) to head out at a cool -30c drive to Mt Chephron - Banff National Parks.
We snowshoed across the thin ice and hung out in the cold for about an hour. As we were leaving the colours got best.
Nothing like lying on thin ice next to cold river to make you feel alive. ! [ And risking the potentially false signals of your wife of 30 years]
Here are my best 3 of the morning - well I stopped processing and pushing my luck a few minutes ago.

I'm gonna vote for #2. All are beautiful, but the foreground is more visually interesting in #2. And you must definitely be hardcore. It's 30 degrees here in Florida and I'm bundled up inside.....

dbehrens: I gave my story more drama than I could have - the temperature rose to -26 or so. Glad you like the pp and sharpening. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
dwa652: Glad you like 1. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
JimKied: Glad you like 2. I lived in Florida for 6 months and my wife has informed me that that is where we retire. The plus 30's and canning and kayaking and golfing and winter birds are great. Thanks for the specific feedback on 2. Much appreciated. Scott
mikerenteria: Glad you like the images. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Adam73: Glad you like my highlights and shadows. It is a challenging spot this time of year because the sun comes up slowly from south east. I think I need to go back in the evening. Thank your for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Just "magical" photography Scott!!! I just envy you the chance to explore and immortalize such a beautiful scene!!!! At one with Nature and you have the proof!!
Again, just great photography!! And your "beloved" should get an "attagirl" also!

Long time since I have seen your work. I rarely frequent this forum, but your work continues to be outstanding.
Of the three I lean towards the middle image (possibly with a bit off the bottom). Why? I love the water with this view, shutter speed.

Lovely set Scott. Really enjoyed viewing it. Loved the light in the first image but I liked the composition in the second more. Great series nonetheless.
