Just came back from my Alaska expedition. I was there mostly shooting Aurora Borealis so I stayed most of the time in Fairbanks (little north of it actually). But, I didn't want to waste my time while waiting for the nightfall, so during the day I was driving back and forth the AK S3 highway that goes between Fairbanks and Anchorage. I tell you, the drive was awesome and views just spectacular. The highway was practically empty and weather perfect for the drive. The road is well maintained so I had no problems driving it.
The two shots of Denali (these are huge panos. Both I shot with my Nikon 180-400mm f/4 lens zoomed in to either 400mm or 560mm with 1.4 TC engaged) are taken from somewhere between North and South view points around Talkeetna. I hiked a little bit because both view points are actually closed. You can still hike but main parking areas are closed. I just parked on the side of the S3 highway. The two aurora shots are through clouds. I had one day (night rather) with awesome light show but clouds moved in. But, I was still able to shoot through them. These are more abstract kind of shots I like a lot because they remind me space nebulas
All other shots are taken around Fairbanks or Denali NP areas.
Thanks for looking...
While they are all nice and I do like the first couple, That second to last photo with the snow rolls is my favorite. I think a tighter comp would make it even better. Nice work.
