At Termini Immerse (Termini), Sicily, Italy.
Rich
Very immersive, but it’s called Termini Imerese
Btw why do you always emphasize that you are „relying on IBIS“? At 1/500 with a 28mm lens, it shouldn’t make a difference

Thank you. I leave the IBIS on when not using a tripod, so I am just indicating that IBIS is on.

I'm looking at the Ulton II vs the current 28/2.8 Elmarit. Yes I know one stop difference (which I don't care for) and the Elmarit is 3x the price (£700 vs £1900) but I'm looking for excuses to buy the Leica but I really cannot find any. Will be using on M cameras (M246 and film).
For anyone that has used both is there anything that I give up by buying the Ultron? Distortion? Colour? Immeasurable sex appeal? Something else? Because right now it really does looks like 6-bit coding vs £1200 of film and processing.

The Elmarit is famous for being a very high-contrast lens. I like it for landscapes (on digital, I don't have experience with it on film), but some people actually find it too contrasty and prefer something else. The Ultron is a bit more neutral in this regard. Also, the Leica really is of incredible build quality. The Ultron is certainly no slouch, but there's still a noticeable difference if you look for it.

I don’t think there is any reason other than to stay on brand to get the Elmarit over the Ultron II.
The ultron is a stand out lens by that I mean one of the best, a classic lens.
I find the VM 28mm Ultron II to be an excellent lens in all criteria. Nothing to be gained by spending much more. I made a decision to shoot Leica lenses on my M, but after direct comparisons in the 28mm FL I am keeping the VM. That says a lot as it is my second most used FL. Every time I view my images shot on this lens I am extremely pleased with it's performance. It is one of those rare "keeper" lenses.

Personally I prefer the smaller CV 28/2 II Ultron over the Leica 28/2 II Cron. Their performance is actually similar but the Voigtlander outperforms it in terms of resolution and contrast. There are some Voigtlander lenses that provide similar if not better performance than the Leica's equivalents and I'd say that the CV 28/2 II and CV 50/2 APO are good examples.
