"md85" has a very valid point! But I would like to add that vignetting is not always harmful ( and the above poster is not making that assumption I believe) to an image. The darkness creeping up and in from the corners leads one's eye to what I see as the main subject..the center of the image.
I use it very selectively and most images it can produce an image exactly the way "md85" describes. I think your image may be an exception.
NTL I like it for many reasons.

Thanks Dan for sharing your thoughts. I'm big on transitions in my images. I strive to show those transitions from dark to light, from big to small, cold to warm, etc.
