A Frederick "Key"(s).
The City of Frederick is the burial place and 2nd home to Francis Scott Key, the author of the "Star Spangled Banner".
His home is near me far outside the city but he had an office in olde Frederick.
There was a contest called the "Frederick Keys: where all entries had to be in the shape of a "key". Most were eventually sold to private parties but there still remain 3 in town.

Was out at dawn with new WA lens to test on my MF Fuji.
The town near me has a creek, Carroll Creek-named after Charles Carroll, and in the winter a boat festival.

A side note on the above compositions...1 boat was called the "Sullygaster". This is a "bastarization" of the mythical Maryland folklore creature the "Snallygaster"
While shooting images this morning I overheard some "tourists" asking what a "Sullygaster" was? I went over and gave them all the folklore I knew of this "beast". More people crowded around and I was giving an "informal" lecture on the history of the Snallygaster.
Frederick, Md was home to many Hessians pow's that were caught by General Geo Washington on his Delaware raid on Trenton, NJ. Many stayed here and are now some of the most famous names in this County.
I am a great fan of the Snallygaster! He is immortalized in many Maryland towns.

My point being that in the German culture(Hessians) it is believed this is where the "Snallygaster" originated here in Mary-land
Dan
"A snallygaster is a mythical creature from American folklore, originating from German immigrant tales in the 1700s. It is described as a dragon-like beast with features like a long beak, metallic claws, and tentacles, often said to inhabit the Maryland and Appalachian regions. The name is believed to be a corruption of the German "schneller geist," meaning "quick spirit".

They will be "in the Creek" until mid-January mate..Hopefully when the light gets lost about 445pm, I can grab a few!
Now I have hand tremors but the IBIS in the camera handles that very well so far and the 20-35mm is a nice light lens compared to the 45-100 or 100-200 GF's normally shot with.
Thanks!

The Lighthorse Restaurant in old town Leesburg, VA is a fantastic place to eat. They are a client.
2 sisters bought an olde rustic bank and turned it into a fine restaurant and casual atmosphere.
Ingrid is a 5 star chef and pro food photographer and Carrie "runs da place".
They saved some of the banks possessions for the dining room and upstairs bar.
