Last Friday after work there was a thick blanket of fog blowing off of the last of the lake ice. I dropped by the a lakeside park to see what I could capture and I'm quite pleased by the results.

Beautiful Austin Healy Sprite, mostly known as a Bugeye (or Frogeye in the UK)! Predecessor to the MG Midget. The front hood and most parts are interchangeable. Super fun car. You feel like you're doing 100 at 50mph.
I built one with a F Production race engine that put out at least 95hp. It weighed nearly 1100lbs/500kg. I took the spare tire out because it messed up the balance of the car.

Thanks Steve.
His license plate had "MIDGET" on it and the MG hood ornament. It had been completely restored by a man in Connecticut and boys was it beautiful.
It was a great day to be out!
His wife works at the cemetery where these were taken. Next time I go, I will ask her what model it exactly is. He was in a big hurry so I could not get full images.

Strange. Pretty sure he's messing around. It should be a '58-'61 A-H Sprite Mk I. (The next edition, Mk II, Sprite and MG Midget Mk I are virtually identical and more familiar.) All Mks can share most parts, though including hood and doors. The later mechanicals were better, but the first Bugeye was the best looking and most distinctive of the lot.
They used to race at Summit Point, SCCA F Production class.

I had a 1969 MGB-GT and I loved it UNTIL everything started to go wrong. That was only 4 years later.
THANKS FOR THE INFO. His wife works at the cemetery so when I get over there again, I will inquire further.
Not a big deal. It was a classic so I grabbed a shot or 2.
