Another mink post.
Last winter a pair of mink entertained visitors at an Ottawa conservation area. A small stream right by the road stayed open all winter, thanks to thousands of minnows. The mink would run down and grab some minnows and then take them back to their den about 12 feet away. They really didn't seem to mind us people, often coming very close.
I have not been as lucky (taking nothing away from your talent) to get as close consistently or for as long as it appears you were able to. But, I have noticed that the mink near me are less spooky than most other predators. I have had them run along the stream, and nearly run across my shoes.
