An Eastern Bluebird refuses to move that last bit of distance to feed its fledgling. For years, I’ve been observing the interactions between parent passerines and their fledglings. All the species seem to work the same way. The fledglings flitter their wings, begging to be fed, while the parent continues to feed them outside the nest while exposing them to the food source. There is a bird feeder on the Shepard’s post.

Great shots, Geoff! Looks like that 300 f2.8 marries up well with the Z9.
Thanks Lance. It does pretty well. Although I don't think it would be my choice if one is after a lot of fast action BIF work. I don't think the AF is keeping up with what a native Z lens would do. It certainly isn't up to the level it performs at on a native Sony (no big surprise there). Yet, for less demanding AF shooting the lens is so nice to shoot especially if one has use cases for the 300 and 420 marks and not just 600 (where you may as well just get a 600PF).
The lens is so light and agile it made me forget about the weighty Z9

A 300 f2.8 is the lens I really want to go with the 600 TC and the Sony looks the goods due to IQ, size and weight. The Nikon will probably be the 100/120-300 f2.8 TC which will make it heavier and larger - and more costly! I'll see what Nikon finally do, but the Sony is tempting.
