It's been a while. My last Nikon body was the D800. Grappling with the Z9 now, though I'm completely blown away by what it can do so far. A few of my best friend with the FTZ II and the Chub:
More birds from the Rockpool and surrounds. A few of these are birds that I have photos of but not great shots. A few are also of birds that are reasonably common but are sometimes difficult to get because they stay in the tops of trees and thus do not offer decent quality poses etc. The White-naped Honeyeater is a first for me as it is not a common bird near me and again is often in the tops of (usually) tall eucalypt trees feeding on small insects, flowers and lerps - Lerps being a sugary cover of about 5mm diameter made by a Psyllid which is a sap sucking insect. Quite a number of Australian birds eat Lerps.
Lance, that Bell Miner is a spectacle of nature, with its orange legs and orange bill.
And thanks for revealing some of Australia’s ecology. I never would have even heard of the lerp’s story.. Fascinating!

Nice! I love Australian Shepards and Border Collies.
These were shot this morning in the back yard using the Z8 and firmware 3.0. I didn't try any of the new stuff this morning I just wanted to make sure my normal stuff worked and all is well!

They are warming up for the big show tomorrow...have a 180-600 rental coming to test out, but just the lowly 100-400 + 1.4x today
Very nice!!
Looking forward to your images with the 180-600, I really think this is the perfect lens for this! I'm looking forward to getting to a show and trying it myself!

Thanks George! Cross your fingers...FedEx already came with another package today and no lens...hopefully it shows up! I'll suffer through with the 100-400 worst case
