Here are a few images from the Skagit Wildlife Area, taken the other day with the Z8 and the 400mm f/4.5 with the 1.4x TC. The first two images were shot wide-open and the third image was taken at f/10.
Well, the airshow got rained out after only 2 planes made a pass...super bummed I rented the 180-600 for these 3 photos Felt like it would have been a fun one, this lens was a bit more to handle than the 100-400 but the internal zoom and overall IQ seems substantially better than trying to use the 1.4x.

I was fortunate to finally see these two at close to eye level. They were 20 feet high, and I used a down sloping trail to get even with them. I then sat down with my tripod, waited, and watched. The one facing me would doze off and the other one was looking the other way. It was the call of a crow that startled them... and boom... one shot and then they returned to their original positioning... what a fun way to spend the morning of the 4th
