Back from my first vacation (to Aruba) since buying the 20-70. Stayed on Eagle Beach and took a 1/2 mile walk to the Fofoti trees every morning (and once near sunset).
So happy with this lens for travel (especially paired with the 70-200/2.8)!
Completely wrong tool for the job but this little birdie flew by at a scenic rest area. 20-70 isn't exactly your lens of choice for little fantails but holy cow the A1 II can shoot anything.
Took my "new-to-me" 20-70 out for its first test. The shift to a smaller, lighter setup was refreshing after a couple of years with the Tamron 35-150 as my go-to lens. Unexpectedly, I felt more constrained by its telephoto limit than by its ultra-wide capabilities. At F4, there was still plenty of pleasing bokeh to work with.
Reposted from another thread I mistook for the image thread (whoops). I'm going to try out the 16-35 GM II to see if it suits my needs better, but I might return to this one. Such a useful focal range. A few from my brief time with this lens:
