It has been a good year in the Northeast for Short-eared Owls.

These photos were taken in the last week in PA, NJ and NY.

Great shots ! SEO posts like yours and others here on FM, have got me hooked on these guys. After a couple attempts at them locally, I have much respect for the shots like these. Low light and distance seem to be problematic while photographing these Owls.

Very. Nice. Inspiring framing.
I especially like the serenity-radiating #2.
And the very much action-suggesting s-curve in the cropped wings of #5.
One more framing/cropping idea for birds in flight.

Thanks Dave, I have Nikon gear. These were shot with the 600mm f4 z lens.
