C'm on bruh, everyone knows those are fakes. Can't make images like that with Canon cameras because they don't have enough megapixels, lack dynamic range, and don't say Sony or Nikon on them!

I have a 13x19 print from the top of the Mist trail in Yosemite, taken with my Digital Rebel and a rented 10-22mm lens. 6mp. I need to dig that off a hard drive somewhere.

I used to have a fairly large collection of images prepped for web presentation, taken with the Canon 20D and 5D, and sitting on my ISP's "free" 100 MB web-accessible storage space. I used to post images here pretty frequently, sourced from that location. Then my ISP decided they didn't want to provide such storage space as part of my subscription anymore.

So I don't have them readily available anymore. But I thought those "oldies" represented what the 20D and 5D were capable of quite well.

Great stuff : ) I've been sorting some old files lately, and I really think the 1dsii colors are my favorite. Funny, I finally am replacing it with an r5 today. lol

Good old days. Yellowstone and the West in 2001.

I was younger then, and also shot with manly gear.

A very welcome and somewhat refreshing change to the current canon threads. So glad I never sold any of my EOS bodies nor any of my extensive EF lens collection. Whilst I admit peaking has piqued my interest lately (M bodies) I just know I’ll return to my DSLR’s at some point.

The pics posted on this thread show that it is the photographer that counts...not the gear...in most cases.

I follow a highly successful UK food photographer (mainly food) who does a regular Youtube channel...and he is very much into buying the gear that does the job at the best possible price.

He uses two s/h 5D SR bodies with a 5D S as a reserve, and he often points out he worked mainly with 5D mk2s before those, still has one, and if he had to, could revert back to that for many of the pro assignments he has.

To put his work in perspective...he thinks a £2000 job (day rate) is a budget job. As he points out...he could buy anything on the market if needed to improve his work and income....but nothing out there will do that for him....his expenses would go up but income would stay the same.

A final point...I sometimes revisit old digital files using the latest sortware...that does make a difference. That enhances the value and performance that can be achieved from older gear. Both film and digital.
