MPB currently has like new v1’s for $719. They occasionally come up on for a bit less on the B&S. I would not bother adapting an E mount version unless yoh want to adapt other E mount lenses.
Ja, still trying to decide if I want the version 1 or II. Plus the lottery of getting a version I made on Monday and likely being stuck with it over a V-II new that I would have time to eval and retun if needed! Decisions, decisions.

if you have any desire for the 40/1.2, or the 28/1.5, i'd get the gen ii as they all have matching filter threads size (same with the new 50 apo).

The announced 28mm f/1.5 Nokton for the Z-mount comes with a filter diameter of 52mm, not 58mm like the V-II Apo Lanthar lenses.

The 28mm Nokton is very tempting, especially as it can be combined nicely with 50mm.
On the other hand, the 35 Apo Lanthar is one of my all time favorites and most productive lenses in the output, so that the air has become thin for all my other lens solutions in the focal length range and that would be no different for the 28mm.
The patent for a 25mm f/2 has been around for a few years, make an Apo Lanthar out of it and I'm on fire again.

I much prefer a 35mm FL to 28mm FL. I decided to go with a V2 and ordered from Camera Quest to support an LA area business. I looked at the MPB V1 but with tax it was only $120 less than the V2.

Just received my 35/2 V2 today and loving the more squared off design compared to my old “curvy” design. The new design is the same as as the 40/1.2 lens.
Optics are sharp but no differences compared to the older V1.

After a delivery hitch yesterday I received the lens this morning. Interestingly, physical presence on Zf is the same as adapted CV Ultron II 40/2. Now to see what this 35 APO will do!
