I feel blessed to have spent time making new images in GSMNP a couple weeks ago. A busy place in fall and even more so this year since the adjacent Blue Ridge region was mostly shut down, but I found ways to have total solitude at times, and avoid the crowds. I did a lot of scouting and drove many miles, and found some really special scenes.
This set was created with the Sony A7RV which has become my all-time favorite landscape camera, along with a variety of top-notch E-mount glass ranging from 16mm to 500mm (EXIF included under each image).

Fabulous imagery Ross. Always enjoy seeing your work and you have now caused me to add another location to my bucket list (which btw rarely get's emptied!). Love 4,5,9.

Ross, really tasteful beautiful images…all of them. Not that the gear makes the images, none the less I’m appreciating your comments on the RV as an upgrade from my RIII.

I wasn't expecting to see 500mm as one of your 'landscape' lenses But that shot might just be my fav!
Really a nice job capturing the feel in the scenes. Light, mist, fog, color and lack of it all great contributors to the images Ross

Thank you so much, Derrick! The Smokies, and the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, is definitely bucket list worthy!

Thanks Pat! For me the favorite upgrade features from the RIII are the improved IBIS, gorgeous EVF, multi-position screen, additional dial (it’s sweet having shutter/aperture/ISO/exposure comp each on a dedicated dial), and the AI focus chip which is so good at people and animal eye AF. And I do enjoy the slightly better detail captured from the 61mp sensor.
But that shot might just be my fav!
