While delving into my archives, I recently unearthed a forgotten folder of photos from a 2016 trip to Olympic National Park—a visit that coincided with the beginning of my photography hobby. I recall staying near Hurricane Ridge and making an early morning trip to Sol Duc Falls. We arrived so early, I believe we had the entire place to ourselves. The walk to the falls was a delightful one, winding through a lush, green forest. I wonder if that iconic log is still there! Thanks for taking a look, and I welcome all comments and critiques.
Really a soothing image, very very nicely presented Paul. The greens are wonderful, the little hint of the yellow-golden leaves on the far right work nicely to echo and tie into the same color upstream on the left Shadow and sunlight play nicely giving energy and seclusion to the image or depth

Nice find from your files, Parul! It’s a lovely image. The light in the background trees adds a nice sparkle, and your processing is beautifully done.
Yes, indeed I have so many more to sort thru. PP is a new journey for me and I am so glad that you found it to be done right. Thanks for your feedback.

Nice work. Good idea on the early arrival to beat the crowds.
Thanks Jim, it was really great to be there so early. Something very special to walk thru this place that early. The forest feels so different with no one around. I believe in one day we drove from Hurricane ridge, stopped at Sol Du Falls, Ho Rain forest, North beach and back.....long day but what a beautiful park!
Paul, what a nice peaceful scene,
I have been to the Olympic National Park, multiple times but never early enough to enjoy a moment like this!
If you don’t mind my asking, how early was early?
Parul, I’ve been back to enjoy this lovely image multiple times. As Karl says, it is very soothing. All the elements in the composition are harmonious, and your processing is superb. You have my vote for Feb. 14 TOTW.

Glad this one found its way to see us!
Karl
Karl, thank you very much for your detailed feedback. Everyone's comments and critiques helps me improve and it's encouraging that I am headed in right direction. One thing I did do different in this image is waited for few days before posting as it gave me time to get it just right fell to the scene as I remember.

With no one around it was definitely very peaceful. This image was captured on 9/16/2016 at 8.24am. That means I might have arrived at parking lot around 7:45am.

Ross, your comment made me smile and I'm flattered! I really appreciate your feedback, support, and guidance. I'm so glad you liked the image enough to vote for it.
This is a really, really sweet image. The descriptions of soothing and peaceful are appropriate for sure. Your composition flows (no pun intended) really well and the light is just so nice.

Love this...ONP always a winner and this is great light
Thanks Mike, glad you enjoyed viewing this one. Actually what I really missed was some of the forest shots with green moss covered boulders with trees on my way to this fall.

Ross, thanks a lot for your feedback and guidance. I still can't believe that something shot 8 years ago came back to life now! OMG....thanks for your vote.
Parul, Congratulations on the FTW. Gorgeous image. I recognized the location after seeing the log. I'm only posting this because of what you said about the log and will take these images down with apology if you want me to. I took this image in 1977 on slide film. I don't know if it is the same log. Don't know if a log could last that long. I think you took your image from the foot bridge, so the angle is different. Anyway, it is very interesting to me and I see from your image that mine is so-so.
