I went out on this morning with the intentions of shooting Short-eared Owls, but my attention was quickly captured by the eagle activity out in an adjacent field. When there is food around it becomes a feeding frenzy with the eagles. So, for the next hour or so my attention was toward capturing some of the action I was witnessing. I never could figure out exactly what it was they were feeding on.
amazing sequence of pictures. really show the competitive nature of wild animals for food. thanks for sharing. must have been thrilling to witness all that interaction between birds that size.
A great set of images Louie, it’s like you reside in a wildlife refuge. It seems that is a great combo, 600f4 +1.4 TC and the new 300f2.8 +2xTC for a great handhold option.
Super cool action set! I find the different beak shapes interesting, like the blunter, more squared off mature eagle left side in 3, and the damaged and healed funny one on right in 5, you know there had to be a story there. So much going on and so much to see! Fun stuff.

Thanks very much for your comments and yes it was indeed exciting to see the action taking place in the skies above.
