I've been accused here of questionable PP so I've added an unprocessed Raw to remove any doubt of the "authenticity" of the dark background

Thanks Dave. Those dark BG's are a result of my NOT listening to advice. I was at the LA Arboretum when I struck up a conversation with another photographer that I didn't know. I told him I was from out of town and he asked me if I had plans to go anywhere else. When I told him I was going to San Pedro to look for Peregrines he was very adamant; "if they don't show by 10:00 go home. If they're not there by 10:00 they're not showing plus the light will suck anyways." He kept repeating that as if it was a sure thing. Well, I waited almost 4 hours this day but they showed up, around 10:45, and the light was just hitting the birds but the cliff face behind them was still in shadow
