I saw my first osprey of the year yesterday. It's still in the 20s at night here, I personally would have stayed south a little longer! Opening Day! by lennycarl08, on Flickr

Black-bellied Plover (blew the highlights unfortunately)
Still great shots! Looks like you had to get down and dirty for these! I'm still trying to get better with shorebirds with the 300 and 2x TC combo myself but these are great.

another great set, Tyler! I am one of those who sold the 600 GM. Nothing beats f4 at 600mm. When I had mine, the 1.4TC was on the 600 95% of the time. I wish Sony would make a 800 f6.3 like the Nikon 800 PF. Right now I have the 400-800 to get me to 800mm but at f8,
A few from yesterday afternoon with the lowly 300 GM. The osprey shots were heavily cropped. The GBH shots are almost frame fillers.
Sold the 600GM I won't hide you for it
At this point I barely even take mine off the camera.
A couple more A1/600GM from the overcast day a couple weeks ago.

Baird's Sandpipers weren't too shy the other day. My elbows paid for this shot, going prone on the rocky beach haha. I miss my 600F4 still but i'm on a 25 day e-bird streak so I've been out with my camera birding for more than 3 weeks straight which is something I think I would never do with 600F4 unless I got rich and was birding over-seas in a new country all the time.
