Congratulations to Ross Martin for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 4 votes - View Previous Winners
I was blessed to spend time in the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina, and a bit of the Blue Ridge Mountains, last month. I’m always amazed at how the deciduous forests come alive with pastel blossom colors in spring, almost like a mini-autumn. I was trying out a new to me Tamron 50-400mm and it ended up staying on the camera the whole trip, its great focal length range suits how I see. Hope you enjoy some of these views.
Ross, looks like you had an amazing time in GSM. Each and every image is special but for me #2 really has a painterly feel to it. 50-400 would be a great lens to carry for travelling, great range and looks like a very capable lens. Strong set as usual and an easy vote from my end.

Thank you very much, Guy! Your van build sounds cool, I have a friend who did that and it took him years. Hope you get to the Smokies for a fall and a spring! Usually mid-April is a good bet but the dogwoods bloomed early this year so missed most of them. Do you get the pastel colors of spring buds in the forests in MA? I have wondered if New England got that and if so would like to do a spring trip there sometime.

I always appreciate your thoughtful and kind comments, Parul, thank you very much!
Thank you very much, Dan. It’s an area that really inspires me, a different feel than the West where I spent the first 46 years. I did enjoy Michael Frye’s recent work in the Smokies (I recall you are friends). My visit there overlapped his by a few days, but unfortunately I did not run into him.
