One of the rolls I souped was from the Pen FT. I wish I could see through the viewfinder better - I hear the F or FV are brighter. If I could get a split prism with a brighter view that would be perfect. Love the shutter sound of the FT Fuji 200 with the Zuiko 40mm f1.4 lens. I've adapted a 17mm f3.5 Tokina F-mount lens and it gives a much wider field of view. Hoping it is sharper than the 40mm.
The Pen FT mirror is semi-translucent to allow light to hit the light meter behind the mirror...frankly the light meter on the FT is not that useful but a bright VF is. Replacing the mirror on the Pen FT is fairly simple procedure and full silvered mirrors are available pre-cut on eBay. I replaced most of my Pen FT mirrors with the full-silvered ones and it makes a HUGE difference...also the FT and FV have a better focus screen than the original Gothic Pens. I'd be happy to walk anyone through the mirror replacement process...the hardest part (if it can be called that) is removal of the camera top plate.

Thanks leolab. I ended up getting a mint F, and the viewfinder is brighter. The meter actually works on the FT, but I prefer using my phone for metering. I've considered removing the top to clean the viewfinder.

Huss, you are making the Agat 18k sing. Great color on your triptych
Thanks James!
But honestly I'm not sure if I can recommend the Agat. It is just too quirky... Either go basic and easy w something like a Kodak H35, or swing for the fences with an Olympus Pen/Samurai etc
