One of the very popular short hikes in Badlands National Park is to this window on the appropriately named Window Trail. From the window in the Badlands Wall you can see the intricately eroded canyon. My wife and I were on a trail through the canyon when I took these photos.

I do that and the changes are dramatic before and after a rain storm.

Very nice Morris! On an overcast day like this you can better see the small details of the terrain...

2 looks really neat to me- have you played with making the clouds more dramatic ? (Lightroom sky presets )

I agree, you hardly see the strata lines on a sunny day

Thank you Aditya,

I process in Photoshop. I did a lot to bring out the clouds. The sky originally looked flat gray. I did not want to over do it.
