The thing is that I’m in love with the 18mm f2 and the 35mm 1.4. I had them before. And the 50 is just for portraits, in my case. The Voigtlander is just for fun. I always wanted to try Voigtlander on Fuji x. They were my favorite lenses on my Leicas and Nikon zf.
I personally like the look from voigtlanders, but no longer enjoy manual focus—good on you who still do though.
In the past I owned and really enjoyed both the 18/2 and 35/1.4, but have sold both. My favorite primes right now render similarly to them, the Viltrox air 25 and 56 — glorious little primes, reasonably fast and very lightweight. I’ve considered re-acquiring the 18 and 35 Fujis, but as of yet haven’t missed either focal, the 2 little Viltri seem to cover my needs.
Only way to tell is to actually handle the bodies. Rent/borrow one and try it and see how it feels in use.
Had a beautiful X-E2 and hated it. Ready to give up on Fuji because of it. Tried a friends X-E3 & the small changes made it a keeper so I dumped the 2 & got the 3. For me it was night & day different in handling - comfortable in my hands.
So, try one before you jump in & save a lot of frustration.

They are big, but you can use larger lenses on smaller bodies. (I use the 100-400mm zoom on my XT5, and that a far larger lens to body ratio.)
Are you sure you need the 56mm f/1.2? Unless your need is somewhat specialized, and unless you don’t care about size and weight, the 50mm f/2 can work quite well for portraits. f/2 at 50mm provides pretty decent bokeh unless you really need the very narrowest DOF.
There are also smaller wide angle options that work well.
The 50/2 is optically an EXCELLENT lens. The DOF wide open is plenty for headshots, it just doesn't give you full body distances bokeh. But it's certainly nicer to wield on a small body than the big 56/1.2. I just love the character of the 56/1.2.
If you want a Voigtlander the 40/1.4 Nokton can be had for peanuts and its wonderful normal'ish lens on a crop sensor. Having a focus tab on the X-E series is fun too.

Tomorrow is the deadline to accept an x-pro2 with the 35mm f1.4 lens for a good price (nothing super special). My other option here is to put the money on more lenses instead. I already own the Fuji X-E5 with the 23mm f2.8, but I would need an 18mm and a portrait lenses and maybe some voigtlander too.
The question is, x-pro or lenses? Is the x-e5 so different from the x-pro?
Do you need backup body?
I'd probably go lenses, myself. Unless you already have several but even then can you have too many lenses
Is one body more pro than the other? You should be able to use either professionally

I don’t really need a backup body, but I was thinking to use it as my “artsy” camera, and leave the x-E5 as a family and travel camera.
Generally speaking, I like having 2 bodies. But I don’t like it when they’re disparate in files. Whenever I’ve had a 24 or 26mp body along with my 40mp body, the lesser one doesn’t get used much. Then when I did use it, there was always that moment where I’d think darn, wish I had made that capture on the 40mp cam. YMMV
Yeah! I wish they had the same kind of sensor, but that’s exactly why I’m looking for an x-pro2: for its sensor. But I want to see how much in a camera is really done by the sensor vs the lenses. It will be an easy compromise is the x-E5 can get closer to the X-pro files with the same classic lenses as the 35mm f1.4 or the 18mm f2.
I found the 23mm f/1.4 WR and 56mm f/1.2 APD lenses easier to shoot with on the X-E3 than the Fujicron F2.0 lineup (I had the 23mm, 35mm, and 50mm one after another). The X-E5 handles a bit better than the X-E3. I wouldn’t worry about it and would just go for the best option.
I had the CPro2 for years. It was a fine camera. I replaced it with the XT5, which also an excellent camera.
I do not miss the 24MP sensor at all.

But they are a little big, aren't they?
“Big” in the Fuji X system is relative. The 56/1.2 is about the same size as a typical 50/1.4 in an Fx system. But yes, being fast optically, they’re larger than optically slower options at similar focal.

The fact that it's the same size isn't really a selling point. It ought to be quite a bit smaller (smaller mount, smaller image circle, etc)...

Uh, faster aperture is the primary determinant of lens size. There are many lenses that cover 4x5 film that aren’t much bigger than the 35/2 Fuji.

Arguably focal length is the primary determinant of lens size, but, in any case, the 56 is a rather large lens for the Fuji system, especially on an XE5. But it seems to me that Fuji's fast lenses are getting larger and heavier, while their slow lenses are getting smaller. Could be an attempt to recalibrate what bodies people go for.

The new 1.4/1.2 lenses are big. Period. Even on the X-T5 they are bigger than I like. That one stop (or two stops in case of the 1.2) don't cut for i, in particular now with excellent noise reduction in all raw processing software.

But then, again many companies release big lenses; I wouldn't call it an aberration per se. Nor would I just wave it away because other lenses from different brands made for different systems are also the same size.
Take a look at the Viltrox 56/1.7 air. It’s excellent, lightweight and affordable.
