I used to own that Nikkor too. Talking about soft wide open. Interesting rendering but that was about it. This 45 is not as bad wide open

I ordered the lens and received it just before leaving on a long trip to Europe. A very interesting lens indeed, as expected some difficulties when using at 1.2 aperture, notably lack of depth of field, but otherwise a fun experience.
