I've been shooting dual R5's now for over 3 years. Today I was changing a camera setting, I used the EVF for whatever reason, when I typically would use the LCD to do something like this.
I than immediately picked up my 2nd R5 body to change the same setting, so both bodies work the same.
Right away I noticed the colors in the menus were slightly different. It was very noticeable. I was in the yellow menus, and the yellow in both R5's are 100% different shades and brightnesses of yellow.......all my setting for EVF match in both cameras, all is identical.
I'm not too concerned at all, but curious if the EVF has changed or degraded over the years? If that is even possible?.......Or if it has always been like this and I never noticed (I've never used the EVF in the menus on one body, than immediately grabbed the 2nd body and looked through the EVF at the same thing before like that).

Check the Screen/Viewfinder Color Tone settings, #3 tab in the yellow Wrench menu.

Yes, I checked all the settings. I even copied the settings to a SD card, and uploaded them to the other body.
The EVF in my two R5 bodies have slightly different colors to them. Simliar......red is red, yellow is yellow, but the hue or something is slightly off between the two.
LCD screens are identical. My only assumption is the EVF's were manufactured at different point in time, with different tolerances.......otherwise seems something degraded over time.
If I did not own a second R5 body, and had not looked at them so quickly after one an another, I would have no idea, or problem with it.
I'm not concerned or worried at all, just curious what causes this.

How big a difference is there in the first ~3 digits of the serial numbers? Serial numbers may start with a zero or one, which can be ignored. The next two digits indicate the manufacturing year and month.
Also, are you looking through the viewfinder with the same eye for both cameras? Probably, but worth asking. Long ago I discovered that I saw colors somewhat differently through the camera depending on which eye I used.
Yes both on the same firmware. Whenever I change anything permanent on 1 body, firmware or settings, I do it to the other body at the time, so there is no issues with functionality with whatever body I grab.

Wow, I didn't know that is thing! But yes I looked with the same yes, interesting though.
Hopefully someone with 2 R5's can check theres and chime in at some point.
I will check the serial #'s tomorrow, the cameras are locked away in a pelican case at the moment, thank you!

interesting that you switch regularly. I've only switched when I have to due to space constraints or position. Interesting topic so I'm going to start a poll.
I actually don't switch that often any more. I did more with DSLRs/SLRs when I needed to manually focus because my left eye was better/sharper for that task.
Hmmm, interesting... I do have two R5 bodies, now I will have to check this. I'll do that later today when I am home.
Normally I would never notice a difference as I always use the LCD when using the menus.

Yea let me know when you get a chance, I'm curious.
Me too, first time in 3 years I think I ever changed a menu setting with the EVF on my R5......not sure why I did it that way this time. I think maybe the LCD was folded in, and was just quicker for me in the moment.
So I have no idea if it has been like that since day 1, or the EVF changed over time.
