The ice is mostly gone from our ponds so I headed back to Jamaica Bay for the first time in months to photograph the winter waterfowl. The west pond was nearly empty and I walked back to my car and as I was packing up two woman were returning from the East Pond. I'd seen them departing the West Pond so I asked them if the East Pond was as empty as the West Pond was and they said there were plenty of birds there so I stopped packing up and headed to the East Pond and had a wonderful afternoon shooting from the East Pond Blind on a nice warm yet cloudy day here in New York City.
nice set of pics, morris. i have a hard time getting good pictures of buffleheads. they are very skittish birds. good job with detail and controlling the whites.
