Spent the day with James today and we had fun. First stop was dropping off a gift for Ross Perot Jr. so he got the nickel tour of The Circle T Ranch. Next we dropped by to check on my timelapse project in the Mid-Cities, great timing because it had filled the SDXC card thirty minutes before we arrived. James has been asking me to take him on a photo shoot, so we decided to go to the Fort Worth Zoo and shoot animals. We were both pretty tired as we trudged home in DFW traffic, but it was a good day.
The above were captured in pretty subdued light using the R5II along with the RF200-800. The lens never disappoints. This was a shot James took with the R5II and the RF200-800 while I made room for some more images on his loaded up SD card.
I made a couple of neighbor kids day today. They were out playing on their E-Bikes and I waved them down, I'm sure they thought that I was going to chew them out for doing wheelies. I told them to hang on for a minute while I got my camera. ...... I'm too old and smart to do them anymore, but I can still shoot 'em!
Nice neighborly shooting, Jim. Those things have been proliferating like rabbits! Nice to see those kids do it in the neighborhood and hopefully not on busy streets, like I'm seeing up here. Hope they stay safe and enjoy the bikes.
I agree Gero, they look like a great new way for kids to hurt themselves. Like SeaDoos that go 90 mph. We just keep inventing new and creative methods to rack ourselves up.
Went to DC last night to play with different lenses: CV 21 f1.4, CV 35 f1.2, Kase 200mm f/5.6 MC Reflex Mirror Lens and Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 50mm f/2.8 II Lens.
To those who celebrate, Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year to all, may good light be with you!

Douglas, that is some very creative photography. I remember 20 years ago when I had a Zeiss Mirrotar 500 f/8 that would produce the same donut bokeh - you either like or not, but it's kind of cool nonetheless.
For the first time in 45 years of professional work, I have an assignment on Christmas Day. A client called me yesterday to see if I would be willing to do a 16 person family portrait for him tomorrow afternoon. I checked with the war department and she gave me the go ahead. I can fit it in mid afternoon between festivities.
