Great shot, Ray! I am not a big sports fan but I enjoy watching soccer once in a while, especially the World Cup. I had never watched a hockey game before but have been watching replay of some of games in the Winter Olympics quite a few times. I think I like it!
Just a grab shot of my helicopter pilot shooting an iPhone capture of the sunset, but it's handheld at 1/30th in no light at all. Kind of like what the Hasselblad did with this..............
I just wrote an article for "AIRSPEED" on shooting the Hasselblad X2DII air to air. I don't really think that a viewer can see the Hasselblad difference in an image posted on the web. Truthfully, when I look at a shot captured with the X2DII on my monitor I can see a substantial difference, but I don't know that I can put that difference into words. Sharper, for sure, more vivid, yes, but not necessarily, more depth, I think that describes it better. As discerning as all of you are I know that you could see it immediately, in my article I described it as "obvious, but indescribable". My film Hasselblads had a different look, sharper and more contrast, the Zeiss optics were the difference in those days. Combine the larger film area with the sharpness, color and contrast offered by the Zeiss lenses and you really had something, but this camera, this is all of that and more. Even Hasselblad has difficulty putting it into words, they call it "Hasselblad Color Science". Whatever it is, it's the magic sauce that makes investing in their equipment worth it. I sure wish they would get off the dime and produce a couple more "E" series lenses . Back in the day I had the Super-Wide which was a fixed focal length lens permanently mounted on the body and a detachable film back. The 500 C/M bodies had detachable lenses and I had a Zeiss 28mm, 80mm, 150 and 250mm. Hasselblad made a 500mm but the cost was beyond outrageous so I never considered getting one. Now that Hasselblad has figured out how to design and produce zooms without compromise, I'd like to see a 100-200 "E", and a 200-400 "E". I'm sure that last lens would nudge 10K, but it would be worth every penny.

Beautiful country! Not a landing spot in sight.............
True.
The first time I took a buddy up, just as we touched down on a little grass strip he leaned over putting his head in front of me. I shoved him back over and forgot about it til that night when we were having a beer and talking about the flight.
"Why did you lean over when we were landing?"
He took a drag on a cigarette and exhaled, "I was trying to see the speedometer.
We were going so slow, even if you messed it up I figure we'd only break our noses. Tops." Some people have a practical way of putting things.
You can slow her down into the 30s, so we might not be able to use the plane again, but we'd be very unlucky to not walk away.
I signed up for A2A on Tuesday of the Sun N Fun show. I only have budget for one day. There will be a sunset/evening airshow on Wednesday, which is supposed to include the F-22. I have not had the opportunity to shoot the F-22 at sunset at a show, that is one of the motivations for going to Sun N Fun. I am guessing Tuesday is the arrival day for some of the military jets. Hopefully I will get to shoot the F-22 A2A. On Tuesday at Sun N Fun last year they got the F-35 and F-16 for A2A shoot. But with what's going on in the Middle East, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the military planes don't show up.
The show over the Niagara Falls in June was just cancelled. This is the third one. I am surprised that one got cancelled, the only military performer was to be the Thunderbirds, not like they would be sent somewhere for operation. But who am I to know?
My understanding is that they are circling the wagons so as not to provide access to some jihadi loose canon that might want to create a scene or do some damage at a show. They just don't want to create an opportunity, has little to do with the assets being needed elsewhere.

That makes sense, Jim. I guess to some degree, it's up to the organizer. The one over Niagara in June is not even on a military base. The one in Yuma, AZ this weekend is still on track.
I just got a call from the leader of Boydo's squadron, the 457th Spads. They are having a big event on April 11th and would like Chandler and I to come and spend the day with them on the flight line. Hoping that Boydo can make it , but his schedule for UPS is uncertain this far out. They have transitioned to the F-35, should be a fun day!
F-22 Demo team confirmed for London, ONT show this coming Aug. I have the Saturday noon booked but thinking should i do the Friday "Hour of Power" (Evening ) show as well
I've had a bunch of aerials to do for an Economic Development Corp and they have been chomping at the bit. The weather and winds have not been cooperative but Thursday was a perfect day. This is a shot of two large data centers, they are popping up all over the place these days........................
