p.1 #1 · #391 Patterns in the sky

Not real sure this is gone into fit in theme especially when only 640 on the longside, but it truly is an amazing sight seeing thousands of Snow Geese at a time take off fly and land together in some amazing patterns and never crashing into each other, talk about communication and living in harmony maybe the human race should take a lesson or two from these beautiful birds.
Processing decided to give it a low key treatment and try to bring out some glow.

Thanks for looking

Great Shot! Very cool perspective. I have never seen anything like this, I have always lived in the desert and we don't get migrating birds very often. If we do it is 20-30 at a time.

Thanks for sharing the image!

Nice shot, just too many snow geese, I look at the shot and my eyes just go flip flop trying to take in the whole scene.

Chaotic scene, must be something to see in person. Can be interpreted as a migration pattern as well...

I have seen this at Pea Island in NC. It's so awesome, I forgot to take the photo!

Great shot!

A very interesting shot, really nice. I had to look at your exposure info see how you managed to get a large depth of focus, with a fast exposure to stop motion. The birds really stand out in sharp contrast to the lovely background. Did you have to sharpen the image a lot in post processing to achieve this?
Thanks
-Nick

Thanks everyone for taking time to look and comment, this was shot in the Skagit Valley in Washington Sate about 60 miles north of Seattle Winter and early spring is an incredible time in the Valley for Avian

As far as sharpening very little actually the processing I did with the low Key actually adds a blur to the image. I was shooting with my 100-400L with a 1.4 extender but the Geese were so close I had to bring it down to about 150mm
