beautiful= you have found your inner Ansel Adams although ansel was BW and yours is great your color photo is great !
It is a spot that attracted so many of the great photographers, certainly inspired me when I was a univ student in in 70s at UC and I'd go see for myself...and see their renditions and you captured it at its best
The pink of the Belt of Venus is enhanced by the dusty Tucson air. The Earth shadow below provides a nice contrast line between the landscape and the Belt of Venus. This is a photo opportunity with the position of the Moonset and Sunrise time, that works best near the equinox because of Moonset and Sunrise times, at other times of the year it is either too early or too late. So planned photo agenda weather permitting, and today the weather was very permitting. For planned shot like this it gets set up while still dark and then the camera and wait and watch for the "Kodak moment". The best glow for the Belt of Venus lasts a very brief time.
Leica M11 EV1 Voigtlander 90 mm ultron lens Cobalt Kodachrome "1987" preset- for pseudoKodiak moment, more seriously I thought a sort of Kodachrome render would combine nicely with the pink of the Belt of Venus
Light angle is everything, warm afternoon light coming from the opposite side of prior posts. A Saguaro under the too hot for April Tucson Sun framed with "sneezy" Palo Verde flowers. The flowers are a great sight and scene but my sinuses are looking forward to it ending but before then I want to get my photo. Leica M11 EV1 Leica apo summicron 50 mm f5.6. Cobalt Kodachrome 64 preset. The detail and sharpness of the apo summicron never ceases to amaze me even stopped down for landscapes it remains special.
These two friends were slowly making their way down the main street of Parma's historic center. Physically struggling, but full of spirit and enjoyment. Optimism is but a frame of mind I try to keep reminding myself. People like this help me do that.
That is a wonderful Still Life Allen. As it happens today I attended an exhibition of the works a famous Italian photographer who is well know for his still lifes among other genres. I really enjoyed them. The exhibition included the cameras he used Rolleiflex and even many of the items he featured in his photographs.
I am fortunate to live in a city where art is omni present with too many galleries and museum that it is impossible to see every show every month. Because of my disability all shows and museums are free for me and a companion. Italy is very supportive that way. Keeps me very inspired.
I had my Leica IIIf loaded with some Kodak 400TX and tried to take a couple of images. It was dark, so not sure how they will turn out. When i get them back from development and scanning I will post if there are any even decent ones. I have a lot to learn about old film cameras and film for that mater.
