bored on a Sunday, decided to blur cars in motion with my M11P and cron 35/2 version 4 (and by the way, I'm still loving that lens).
Originally my intention was to pan at the speed of the car so that it stayed in focus (that I came slightly to achieving in the last image), but then decided to go all out blur just for the artistry. But eventually I do want to learn how to pan keeping a moving subject in focus while blurring the background, such as bike riders.
On saturday I drove my Wife to Bologna to attend a business event, and then catch a flight back to the U.S. for two weeks. Since I was in town I decided to stop by and say hello to my friends at the Leica Store there, and by some of the new Leica Monopan film (surprisingly affordable). I got to the store 20 minutes before they returned from lunch so had to wait. I noticed this interesting corner across the street so positioned myself for a composition I liked and waited for interesting subjects to pass through. It is Italy so odds are high. In the few minutes I had, no one really special came by. But, still some with at lease a little interest. Anyway, the 4 images (there are probably 8 in total) here show his technique, so I thought some of you may find it interesting.
An afternoon of rain in Tucson with the Sun peaking out as the day was ending. I waited patiently at my spot ( flat rock that I often used as my stand platform) that I thought would light up- this type of light lasts maybe 30 seconds so when the moment is right. A beam of Sunlight lit my scene, Catalina mountains in background. Captured with Leica M11 EV1 and a 1966 build Leica rigid 50/2. My 60 year old rigid remains a favorite.
Two versions of the same setup from yesterday's outing. I can't decide which I prefer.
With the change to Daylight Savings time, and the sun getting higher in the sky I am finding many new photographic opportunities. I am 74 years old but have only just experienced living in my first Winter. I didn't like it so much. But, I am now experiencing living in my first Spring. Better for sure. Still for me, it is hard to beat perfect all year round when it comes to quality of life.

I like this one, and couldn't resist making it monochrome
