Nice shot Tony. Shows that the MC-14 on the 100-400 works. I probably would have been too scared of subject movement to shoot @ 1/250.

Thanks Tom. That was with the MC-2. Had to keep shutter speed down to keep ISO down. Little guy is continually moving his head so I shoot in bursts and maybe 10% of those shots capture a moment when his head is still.
Mitesh,
Wonderful image.
I’d love to hear about how you got the shot. I’m sure there is a story there. How did you approach. Time of day, company, tracker, vehicle etc…
Keep the lovely images coming. They are a real treat

Thanks, Pavan. That image was sheer luck as we (driver + tracker) found this puma family at daybreak and as we began following it, the skies just lit up and the rainbow appeared. Fortunately, the puma was positioned decently and sat still for a few seconds.
Here's another one where the light just came out at the right time.

Was this someone's pet? If not, how did you get so close?
Pet puma 😂
As with any wildlife, approach slowly, carefully, quietly and with a dollop of reckless disregard for your own safety 🤣. In all seriousness, we didn’t approach. We took our position based upon where we thought it would go after having followed it for a while, and then just waited. I got lucky that I decided to walk right up to me and stop in front of the rainbow.
