I am by no means an expert with Olympus but I set it up for tracking much like I would my Sony. Tracking (in my case for people) and full screen rather than smaller box. So far it has worked well for me. I m using an OM-3 but it should be the same. With my Sony I would you use tracking wide but I think full screen is the closest here. - Jim

Yeah, I had better success using full screen earlier. Intuitively it seems like the less it has to search an area it would be more accurate, but who knows.

yeah, that's what I was checking over and over because it was behaving like it was in AF-S. I was in AF-C, but I found the setting I want for the continuous green box. It was in AF Area Pointer menu option, I needed it set to On2 so that it continually showed the green box focus. Back to the yard in a bit to try again if my model feel like running.
Well thanks for your response because you may have solved an issue for me that's been driving me crazy. The green focus box disappearing. Drives me nuts ! I'm gonna check out your fix.
The G9 and PL 100-400 has been a fun combination to get to know these last couple weeks. Went looking for owls, which had moved out, so settled for bugs.
