Tweaking my C1 mono conversion and toning processes for the Fuji. I’m enjoying this little Fuji system more than I have any other camera in a long time.
When Air Force One is to takeoff or land at JFK, NYPD sends up surveillance helicopters. As Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge is adjacent to JFK, they fly low over the park to make sure nobody is there ready to shoot down the big jet. I've had them orbit over me a number of times while I was out shooting and this time they seemed to leave much quicker, possibly because I was using a white lens, the XF 150-600mm, as a white lens looks like a camera lens from a distance while a black lens could be a grenade launcher. I always take photos of them while they photograph me. This photo was taken on Monday with Biden scheduled to arrive soon. The sun had already set with the last glow illuminating the aircraft. I had just enough light to take the image.
Today's walk with a new to me lens, the 50/2. It's a more significantly "different" perspective from the 56 than I expected, but I'm learning it and think I'll come to enjoy it as a walk-around prime. Nothing really special, just playing around with it at different apertures and a revised sepia processing technique. It's got pretty decent bokeh for an f2 lens I think.
Couple more with the same lens, but later afternoon walk with lower angle light. High contrast for sure, but dang I sure do love Fuji color! And I'm liking this lens, pretty sure it'll be staying around a while
Fuji cameras have unique ways of rendering color and it's one of the things I enjoy about my camera. Here we have some snow geese photographed well after sunset looking east with he geese illuminated by the last glow.
