I don't know if the issue is with Purolator or with Fuji Canada - but I decided to cancel the order for the XF 500 until both parties get their act together. Maybe I should just save some money and get another Nikon 500mm PF and a Fringer adapter...
Well the 500PF is a great lens. Which Fuji body are you shooting the XF 500mm with?

Male Mallard Duck with Creative Blur
Creative blur has long been a faverate of mine. I usually do this at the end of the day. this image was taken after the sun had sunk below the hill on the west side of Oakland Lake here in New York City.
Got an opportunity to demo a 60 macro. Have to say it's an odd one, a lens to love and hate lol. AF is as glitchy funky as reviews claim, even with the new FW in the cam, so that's my "hate it." But it's sharp and has glorious bokeh which of course is my "love it!" It's also flare prone, more so than any other X lens I own, so even though it has a heavily recessed front element, it still needs the proper hood which effectively doubles its length! It's a lens that would ultimately drive me nuts, so not in the cards for me. Anyway, a fun grab with it.
The 60 Macro is a fantastic lens, and would agree with the assessment above. The AF is jittery when using AF-C, but AF-S it locks on pretty well; and like any macro lens, if you try to go from up close to distant, it'll take a day to get there, so best to use the manual ring to get it in the neighborhood before activating AF.
What I've seen with the images from it though, it has a subtle/sublime glow to the images, almost like using a haze filter. Especially noticeable in light to shadow transition areas. I adore this lens for portraits.
For macro usage, last year I compared it to the Nikon Z 105 MC; you'd think the Nikon would utterly stomp the Fuji, but the Fuji held up admirably. Ended up keeping the Fuji because it was 10x smaller and lighter, and the sharpness/clarity advantage of the Nikon wasn't all that (plus I don't do serious macro, so the Fuji is more than what I need).

Agree for sure. I had the Nikon Z 105 macro too, and it didn’t wow me either, but I really don’t remember why. Anyway, there is something cool going on with the Fuji 60 when it hits focus. IMO, the Fuji 80 macro is significantly better on both AF personality and optical characteristics, but at the same so good it’s almost sterile in the way it renders. I think the 60 is a nice do it all lens in that focal if you can overcome the AF wackiness. Plus it’s small enough with the hood reversed to always be in the bag, and the counts for a lot IMO. The 80 not so much… Me, I’ll stick with my 50/2 for that, even though it doesn’t do macro.
Another lens I picked up to play with. I can almost hear the groans through the computer. It's a PolarPro 28mm fixed f11 "toy" light-leak lens. I haven't played around too much with the light leak option yet as I wanted to get a feel for its basic rendering.
What's interesting so far... 1) I do actually like the optical defects and respective look they generate. 2) For whatever reason dramatically boosts saturation, especially in the shade -- I shot all of these raw and processed normally, so it's definitely the lens itself. Must be something to do with the plastic element. 3) It does make rainbow flare streaks when shot into light.
Here ya go, FWIW examples shot on a walk around my office block. All shot on an XH2, AE and auto ISO. EXIF shows 18mm because I forgot to reset the in-cam manual lens definition to 28. Oh, I'm keeping it. And I'm sure now several of you will be laughing at me
Bored, revisiting some older images with new processing techniques. I happened on these from the 80 macro that I currently have listed in the B&S since I felt I didn't use it enough; and ironically one lens that doesn't seem to be in much demand even at the relatively bargain price I have it listed at. Although it is largish as X lenses go and probably why it lags... Anyway now that I review images from it, I think I might be motivated to keep it for whenever it might be appropriate... Happy accident maybe?
(actually a split-tone warm warm shadows and cool highlights)

Same goes for pretty well all macro lenses, regardless of brand - there isn't much interest in the second-hand market.
The XF 80mm f2.8 is one of the nicer ones out there, in terms of rendering style.

Agree, in the macro lens world, this one is special in how well it renders for being so sharp, and at all distances. It’s arguably one of the best lenses I’ve ever owned. Happy now I got the chance to reconsider and keep it
